Gong Xi Fa Cai ! Happy New Year ! Don’t forget the 12 Million Toto draw tomorrow.

I added some Tencent, MapleTree Logistics, MapleTree Industrial and ST Engineering during the market dip this month. February has been a roller coaster ride for the US stock market, the Volatility Index surged to almost 30 and the stock market plunge almost 1000 points giving back 50% of all the gains in 2017. While I was shopping for bargains, the market went up again recovering what it has lost before I could take any concrete actions. Looks like we are now trading in an environment where the robots have a certain set of stop loss rules thus triggering this panic sell despite a relatively healthy and vibrant economy. Did you managed to get some bargains during the flash sale ? If yes, congratulations !

Songs that are in my playlist these months  : (Yeap, I caught a Hyukoh virus :-p)

I am so sorry for the late updates. In the past months, I embarked on this crazy trading learning journey. I’ve always been fascinated by the technicals (Candlesticks, RSI, Fibonacci, Elliot Wave, Ichimoku etc) and since I have been investing for a while. I am always curious how these tools may help me in better manage my portfolio. Thus, I gave myself a 6 months learning challenge and a seed money of $60K SGD. Thank god, I’ve managed to grow the seed money to $100K SGD todate. I am still not convinced this is a sustainable journey. Will keep you folks updated !!

Here’s a high level view of the crazy ride I had.

Income distribution in Nov came from SGX, Suntec Reit, SMRT, Capitamall Trust, Keppel Reit, Sabanna, Starhub, Apple and Citigroup. Despite a relatively turbulent year, my dividends target did not suffer too much. I seemed to be on track to match my last year’s results although portfolio wise, it doesn’t look as rosy. Now that my money is finally freed from my renovation and property investment. Time to strategize abit moving forward to grow the dividends target and strengthen the portfolio to prepare for the next BIG sale.
